INHUMANITY

We paid the price of servitude
But still remain victims of ingratitude
Bound in chains, imprisoned by inhumanity
What should be the cost of our humanity ?

We live in times of open racism
Where people display acts of sadism
shackled by fear, doubt and poverty
People wander in shock and hostility

Why is it right that those in minority

are subject to mounting insecurity

humiliation, suppression and inferiority?
under forces of superiority

What happened to equality?

when people live in squalor and abject poverty
Losing battles against mortality

while subjected to mediocrity

Where is the justice, hope and morality?

They were promised with independence, freedom in their locality

Which has triggered such feeling of anger and brutality

And taken away their belief in respectability

There’s nothing worse than being faced with modern slavery

Where people are deprived of a place in society

Incarcerated, labelled outcasts of a different variety

Inhumanely treated by those with false piety

Whatever the decision, it’s subject to revision

Where we can make some provision

To change the vision of a world in sedition

By creating a place of peace and love with precision

  1. There in lies your talent which comes naturally. Indeed you are the chip of the old block. I mean the P H Okolo in you. Pursue it passionately.
