Scorned by the ones He came to save
He gave His life that we might live
Bore our sins upon the cross
So that hope in God may be restored
He broke the chains that held us down
Rose from death and returned to God
Redeemed us from that evil curse
That sin had placed upon our lives
Rejoice with me now that we are saved
Bought and freed by the blood of Christ
Strengthened by the Comforter
Till death calls or He comes again
