A year rolls by and troubles persists
Leaders stand and encourage as they insist
The war is just while people die and cannot resist
The fight against the lack ,the cold and all they have missed
Wondering in their hearts if God really exists
Living in fear, afraid and aware
There is no respite and they are in despair
Displaced and alone, Refugees whose hopeless affair
Is spread on the news but who really cares
Oblivious of the trauma and wreckage that is there
People are tired and want to return
To the place they were born and all they have known
And in their heart they hope and they yearn
For the day they can go home and
Will be able to mourn
For all that they have lost in the rubble
and everything burnt
Let bloodshed stop and the soldiers adjourn
While leaders seek peace and from the experience learn
That the safety of their people should be their major concern
Let history remain as a testament of things unlearned
