Praise the Lord as he mounts the skies
Going home to paradise
Where He’ll sit upon the throne
Side by side by God alone
Jesus came to find the lost
He paid the price at such a cost
He’s heaven bound, let him ascend
And join His Father when he transcends
Jesus said it was time to go
He’d send the Holy Spirit as you know
He’s gone ahead to pave the way
In heaven where there’s time to pray
The apostles praised the wondrous sight
Amazed, in awe , filled with delight
The Angels stood all dressed in white
observed the apostles at the site
Why do you stand looking into the sky?
Your Saviour has risen up on high
He’ll send the Advocate as time draws nigh
Who’ll be your greatest ally
Rejoice, rejoice the time is near
When you’ll see the Comforter
return to Jerusalem with great joy
Till the time you’ll be deployed
