LETTING GO

Letting go is harder than words can say
The empty vacuum is there each day
The hollow feeling I can’t convey
Is not on show and is not displayed

I’ve learnt to treasure the time we shared
That left me here so unprepared
When fate did serve its fatal blow
I lost a love that truly flowed

My memories are all I have
I am working hard to be so brave
I’ll always be your loving slave
And on my heart I will engrave

Such lovely thoughts
Which time has bought
It’s clear to me what love has brought
And I’ll cherish the emotions it has taught

I missed the chance to say goodbye
It makes me want to stop and cry
I hope i’ll meet you in the sky
And continue our love there on high
