Our Pope is gone and we know why
He has done his part and now he lies
Among the faithful, the Saints above
Residing lovingly besides the beloved.
Who will replace this Special Man
Who preached forgiveness to all mankind
And the beauty of peace and a gentle mind,
Keeping God’s tenets above all things .
So, we hope that as time goes on
A new Shepherd rises high and strong.
Guiding the church with a new song
Of praise and glory where all belong.
