The Uncertain Streets: Reflections on Modern Fear

The streets once known now feel unsure,
Each passing step, we’re less secure,
A distant war, yet here it breathes,
In tightened chests and silent streets.

The headlines bleed into our days,
Through flickering screens and anxious gaze,
Eyes meet, then turn away too fast,
As if the present fears the past.

A neighbor’s smile now feels unsure,
The safety we once knew, obscure,
Even the roads we walked with ease
Now echo doubt in every breeze.

For terror blooms not just from afar,
But in who we forget we are,
And in that loss, so cold, so stark—
We walk together, yet alone, in dark
