In the month of November, when soft shadows fall,
We remember with reverence the hearts that gave all.
Those who have journeyed to God’s gentle light,
Who lived for His peace, who stood for what’s right.
They gave of their lives so that others might live,
A witness of love, the greatest to give.
For Christ laid His life down, that all might be free,
And calls us to love as He first loved we.
“Love one another,” our Savior implores,
“By this shall they know you are truly yours.”
So we walk in compassion, in mercy, in grace,
Reflecting His kindness in each time and place.
“When I was hungry,” the Lord did say,
“You fed me, you clothed me, you showed me the way.”
Each act of compassion, each deed from the heart,
Brings light to the world and gives faith its start.
So in this month of remembrance, our spirits renew,
To love one another in all that we do.
For when we serve others, both stranger and friend,
We serve Christ our Saviour , beginning to end.
