The Lord is my Refuge and Strength

Blessed be the Lord on high,
Who hears my faint and trembling cry;
When shadows press and fears surround,
His mercy lifts me from the ground.

The Lord my shield, my strength, my song,
To Him my trusting heart belongs;
He heard my plea, He gave me rest,
And joy now beats within my chest.

When storms arise and tempests roar,
His saving arm defends once more;
The anointed find in Him their stay,
Their refuge bright, their light, their way.

O Lord, our Shepherd, strong and true,
Bless all who call and cling to You;
Bear us, O God, through night’s endeavor,
And guide Your flock forever and ever.
