STARTING OVER

Is it too late to start again?
To double back despite the pain
Overcoming loss and shame,
Finding strength in a steady flame.

Trading the weight of what could have been
For the quiet triumph of a win.
Choosing to walk on roads brand new,
And leaving behind what I once clung to.

Retracing steps from wrong turns made,
That led me once to paths that fade.
Now thinking clear, with lighter stride,
And hope, not hurt, by my side.

A kinder pace is what fate creates,
When I stop holding on to past mistakes.
So, no matter what may block the way,
New chances rise with each new day.

It’s not too late to start again
Just a choice that must be sustained.
Waking up, it is time to break away
And enrich the future with hopeful rays.
