I walked the wrong path and lost my way.
Chasing headlines that led me astray
Thinking that the road I travelled would let me stray
To prosperity, stardom and riches on display.
My pride was greater than my fear
Throwing aside everything I held dear
Building dreams that appear
To be solid but we’re unfounded, flawed and unclear .
So, with the realisation, I am making a change
Casting off worries, wearing a cloak of humility in exchange
Appealing to others who thought it strange
Of the reversal in behaviour and no longer the same.
With hope in tatters, I seek new terrains
And through the lessons carved by silent pains
I see my mistakes and indelible stains
That were obstacles, my ball and chains.
