When I thought that I had lost the war
The grace and mercy of Christ prevailed
Gave me hope like wings to soar
Above the terrors that were veiled.
Now I know that His great love
Has changed my life and released my fear
From all the arrows from below and above
Because Jesus stepped in and is ever near.
He is the Rock on which I stand
He wields the sword that shatters walls
And gives me confidence to build a brand
Of love and peace whenever He calls.
My shining light that cleared the dark
Whose loving arms protect and guide
While angels fight and demons flee
I will abide by the Master’s side.
