The search for peace like a dream, illusive.
A priceless gift needed but not acquired.
The thirst for calm amid the rising chaos
Of screams and gunfire as blood pours out.
But peace eludes them, it seems so far away,
As war and conflict, they have their say.
They are torn apart, by the forces of hate,
But still we hold on, to our hope and fate.
A longing for calm, a yearning anew.
As we search for peace all over the earth.
In every face, in every gentle birth.
We seek it in the eyes of a child at play,
In the laughter of friends, in the sun’s warm ray.
We dream of a time, when all will be still,
When love will reign, and hatred will shrink .
Where weary souls will come out of the dark
And life will be better than where it all began.
So let us keep searching, let us keep the light,
For in the darkness, there is still a spark of sight.
Let us hold on, to what is right,
And never let go, of our quest for peace tonight.
