LURKING SHADOWS

It is too late now, there is only sorrow
Your death has hit me like a sharpened  arrow
We walk the paths that are dark and narrow
Hiding from the lurking shadows

Thinking back, you will see there is no tomorrow,
I knit my brow in a deep furrow
Wondering what will become of your tomorrows
With no time for you to borrow

Fly away just like a sparrow
Up above as  high as Kilimanjaro
sleeping deep besides the Pharaoh’s
Freed from future pain and sorrow
