I must admit someone caught it on camera
But now that I am free, I’ve been absolved from all blame
George Floyd died but I’m not ashamed
That people are enraged by his death and restraints
I’ve shown no remorse or acts of contrition
And I am free to go on
Protected by law and a Higher authority
And I don’t have regrets despite the protests
And stand for solidarity
There’s no room for justice
That you call injustice
I’m backed by my government who influence the sway
That continues to fuel this unrest and affray
I do understand that people are incensed
By this recent tragedy
Unwilling to accept the fate of minorities
Where people are arrested and abused
by officers in blue who practice impropriety
It’s been four hundred years and things haven’t changed
Where People have tried to rise up to authority
And challenge their rights against inequality
With no hope of equality
