In 1720 came the bubonic plague
Then 1820 cholera arrived but was a little vague
In 1920 the Spanish flu left the dead in its wake
And in 2020 coronavirus came with more at stake
I wonder if this is some sort of test
That God has brought to arrest
The evil thoughts that we possess
And release us from spiritual distress
So hide away for a little while
Let those in charge complete the trials
And fight the virus that lingers here
Till it totally disappears
